Summary
Deafened before age 2. Graduated from the Wisconsin School for the deaf (1876); B.A. (1882) from Gallaudet College. Teacher in the Chicago Day Schools for the Deaf. Founder (1885) and first superintendent of the New Mexico School for the deaf. Laid off by the school trustees in 1906. Founder of the Wisconsin School for the Deaf Alumni Association and held various offices in that organization. Moved to Minnesota, where he died.
