Nationality

Occupation
Student
Murder victim
Summary
A student at the National Deaf-Mute College (now Gallaudet University), he was found dead in his room, victim of a blow to the base of the brain. Apparently an unidentified fellow student admitted striking the blow that killed Cosgrove, but the incident was not prosecuted and was passed off as a tragic accident. Speculation is that President Edward Miner Gallaudet pulled strings to prevent bad publicity for his still-young college.
