Summary
Born deaf, attended a primary school for the deaf, then graduated the Nyangoma Technical School for the Deaf with tailoring training. Worked several jobs as a fabric cutter in clothing factories; while doing that, was instrumental in the formation of several Kenyan deaf associations. Participation in a Swedish-sponsored project led to his becoming the executive officer of the Kenya National Association of the Deaf; he was also a regional director of the World Federation of the Deaf, responsible for East and Southern Africa.
