Summary
Deaf-blind condition (retinitis pigmentosis) was congenital, but did not show up until about age 12. Graduated from the Texas School for the Deaf in 1950. Despite his limited vision, was a finalist in camp tryouts for the Brooklyn Dodgers professional baseball team. Worked as a bookkeeper, then a clerk in a Fort Worth, TX bank for many years; depended on strong Christian beliefs to get through daily life.
