Summary
Hard of hearing in one ear and totally deaf in the other; deafness discovered at age 12. Attended hearing schools, relying on hearing aids and lipreading. Boise State University, Idaho 1980-1984 on a football scholarship, graduating with a B.A. In 1984, signed on with the Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League 1984-1989, then a defensive lineman for the Edmonton Eskimos 1989-1994. Pursued a master's degree in the off-seasons. Retired from football in 1994.
