Born at Lloydminster, Saskatchewan; attended Mackay School for the Deaf. Graduated Gallaudet College (B.A., 1963). Became a teacher at the Alberta School for the Deaf; earned M.Ed. (1980) from Western Maryland College; as of 1990, was a doctoral student at the University of Alberta. Active in Canadian deaf organizations; instrumental in getting surplus telegraph TTYs released for the use of deaf people in Canada.
