Born in Warburg, Alberta as Judith Marylin Kvarnberg; attended Saskatchewan School for the Deaf, 1946-1956, Alberta School for the Deaf 1956-1958, and Warburg High School, 1958-1961. Gallaudet College 1961-1963, but did not graduate. Later attended Golden West College (CA) 1973-1975 (A.A.) and San Fernando Valley State College (now CSUN), 1975-1977 (B.A.). Moved to San Diego, CA and changed her name to Jeri Adams.
