Lawhorn, Geraldine

Both deaf and blind by the time she completed regular high school. Chose to become a performer in a traveling one-woman play, giving monologues and playing the piano to audience acclaim. Later became a teacher at the Hadley School for the Blind. Autobiography is On Different Roads (1991).
