Summary
Deafened at 3 1/2 by typhoid fever; graduated from the New York School for the Deaf in 1877. Studied art in Europe and exhibited in the International Exhibition of the Fine Arts (Rome, 1883). Tried unsuccessfully to have a movie acting career; wrote The Deaf Mute Howls (1930); died in Los Angeles.
