Summary
Born in Dublin and attended the Caremont Institution for the Deaf and Dumb in Dublin until 1884, then apprenticed to a harness maker. Emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba either 1888 or 1889, worked in a harness-making factory, then opened his own shop in 1890 at Rounthwaite, Manitoba. In 1901, married Anna Mary Lennius (or Lennon). 1904, began homesteading a farm near Lipton, Ontairo, and also operated a harmess-making shop there during the colder months of each year until he sold the farm in 1919, devoting himself full-time to harness-making until his death.
