Summary
Born at Painesville, OH; deafened by spinal meningitis at age 8. Graduated St. Rita's School for the Deaf in Cincinnati, OH in 1955. Entered college later in life, earning a B.A. in psychology from Gallaudet College in 1983. Ordained a deacon in the Catholic church in 1998, then as a Catholic priest at age 64 in 2002, the seventh deaf American to become one. Ministered to the deaf in Gary, Rockford, Joliet, and Chicago, plus performed religious retreat work. Died at Aurora, IL.
