Summary
Born at Butte, Montana; deaf at 10 from sinal meningitis. Transferred from a (hearing) Catholic school to the Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind. B.A. from Gallaudet College, 1941. Taught at the South Dakota School for the Deaf for 1 year, then to the West Virginia School for the Deaf. In 1945, became a clerk in the home office of the National Fraternal Society of the Deaf. From 1967 on, was Grand President of the NFSD. Served on the Gallaudet College/University Board of Trustees 1969-1989. Died at Germantown, MD.
