Summary
Born in Warsaw; deaf at 5 from scarlet fever; attended the Institut dai Glichoniemych i Ociemnialych [Institution for the Deaf and the Blind] in Warsaw 1925-1927. Emigrated to Canada in 1927, and attended the Ontario School for the Deaf, Belleville 1927-1933. Married Frank Isadore Hickman in 1944. Active in local and Catholic deaf events; recipient of the province-wide Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship in 1984 and of other honors.
