Summary
Born in Bienville Parish, LA; scarlet fever at age 1 left him deaf. 1874, entered the Texas Deaf-Mute Institute at Austin for 4 1/2 years, training in printing. Worked in various newspaper and job printing offices in the South Central states. Instructor and foreman of the print shop at the Mississippi Deaf-Mute Institution, 1885. Co-founder and publisher of the Sulphur Rock Wheel and of the Batesville Journal (both in Arkansas). Moved to Hillsboro, AR, in 1892 and established his own job printing office.
