Hearing; no middle name, not to be confused with his father, Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet (q.v.). Oldest son of THG and Sophia Fowler Gallaudet (q.v.); for some years, taught at the New York School for the Deaf; married Elizabeth Reynolds Budd (q.v.), a NY School student; was ordained an Episcopal minister in 1851; instrumental in the founding of, and served as minister of, St. Ann's Church for Deaf-Mutes in New York City.
