Summary
Born deaf. Elder brother, Archibald, was also born deaf; both brothers emigrated to Canada and studied law there, Archibald passing the bar first. Duncan studied in the office of the Clerk of the Peace at Belleville while working there, being promoted to progressively more responsible positions. Passing his law exam, he formed a law practice with his brother at Trenton, Ontario, which lasted until Archibald's death in 1902, Duncan continuing alone until 1907. Died at the House of Providence in Kingston, ON.
