Summary
Graduated Gallaudet University in 1992; first deaf South African to receive a master's degree in social work (Gallaudet, 1994). In June 1999, became the first deaf person elected to the South African parliament and the second deaf person in any African national parliament, after Alex Ndeezi of Uganda.
