Summary
Born deaf at Hamilton, Ontario. Attended the Ontario School for the Deaf 1963-1976; B.A. (1982), M.A. (1984) from Gallaudet College. Was a vocational counselor 1985-1990 with the Canadian Hearing Society. From 1990 to 1995, was elected to the Provincial Legislature of Ontario as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP), the first congenitally and culturally deaf signing person to win an elected office in a legislature, but lost his 1995 re-election bid, coming in second in a field of six.
