Summary
Born deaf at Wolfville, NS; sent to Scotland for education and training as a printer at the Institution for the Deaf and Dumb in Glasgow, 1845 until returning to Canada in the early 1850s. In 1856, founded the Avon Herald (Windsor, NS), but it folded 2 years later. At Canning, NS in 1859, launched a second newspaper, A small sheet, which also soon collapsed. Worked as a printer at least up to 1864, but disappeared from the records after that.
