Summary
Born at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; went to Tuxedo School for the Deaf (Winnipeg, Manitoba) briefly, then graduated from R. J. D. Williams Provincial School for the Deaf (Saskatchewan). Took business courses at Robertson Secretarial College, then entered teaching at Jericho Hill School for the Deaf, 1945. Took education courses at San Francisco State College, 1952-1953. Retired from teaching in 1978. Active in deaf organizations for many years, including during her retirement. Assisted with development of a Canadian sign language dictionary. Awarded a 2000 honorary doctorate by the University of British Columbia.
