Worked as a data entry operator for various Canadian government agencies. Taking time out for a family 1979-1994, she returned to school, taking courses in emergency medicine and intervention counseling. Worked as an intervenor for the Canadian Deaf-Blind and Rubella Association.

Became deaf at age 4; entered the Glasgow Insitution for the Instruction of Deaf-Mutes at age 14, remaining until about age 19. Her whereabouts 1824-1834 are unknown, but in 1834 she became also blind from cataracts, and entered the Glasgow Blind Asylum, where she later died.

Despite his limited vision, was a finalist in camp tryouts for the Brooklyn Dodgers professional baseball team. Worked as a bookkeeper, then a clerk in a Fort Worth, TX bank for many years; depended on strong Christian beliefs to get through daily life.
