Summary
Born deaf; received the title of "Sir" when he succeeded his father at age 10 as the third Baronet of Willington, Bedfordshire. Together with his deaf brother William, apparently used signs skillfully. John Bulwer (q.v.) dedicated his 1648 book Philocophus, or The Deafe and Dumbe Man's Friend, to Sir Edward and William Gostwicke.
