Vierra, Mona

Born deaf; attended the Maryland School for the Deaf, then the California School for the Deaf, Fremont, where she first got into cheerleading. Tried out for the Oakland Raiders cheerleading team, the Raiderettes, in 1996, and beat out about 550 other contestants for a place on the team. She was the only deaf cheerleader in the National Football League (NFL).
