Summary
Born deaf at Stevens Point, WI; attended a deaf preschool program, a mainstreamed program ages 5-7, and the Wisconsin School for the Deaf ages 7-11. Her family moved to Canada and she went to the E.C. Drury School for the Deaf, Milton, ON, 1975-1982, then graduated a mainstream program at Kitsilano Secondary School in 1984. Entered Gallaudet College 1984 but withdrew in 1987; later returned and completed her Gallaudet degree in 1994. Worked as an ASL teacher and evaluator at a variety of places. Became a noted ASL poet and storyteller.
