Summary
Born in London as Peter S. Wechsberg; deafened as an infant during a World War II air raid; graduated the New York School for the Deaf (White Plains) in 1964; B.A. (1969) from Gallaudet College. Member of the National Theatre of the Deaf; won an Emmy Award (together with Jane Norman), 1971, for NewsSign4, a pioneering news program with deaf reporters; won a second Emmy for the documentary My Eyes Are My Ears; in 1975, established the Signscope motion picture production company in Portland, OR. Producer of independent deaf-cast films Deafula and Think Me Nothing. Changed his name to Peter Wolf in the late 1970s.
