Lampitt-Baxter, Julie Rose

Born deaf at Kamloops, BC; attended Jericho Hill School for the Deaf 1962-1974. Mainstreamed for her last year of school, she graduated Kitsilano Secondary School in 1975. After a brief stint as an office clerk, joined the Canadian Theatre of the Deaf for several years until becoming an instructor of American Sign Language beginning around 1980. In 1978, became Miss Deaf British Columbia.
