Summary
Born in Halifax County, VA; graduated the Virginia School for the deaf in 1888, then to the Kendall School to prepare for college. However, instead of entering college, he built upon his schooltime woodworking aptitude to work in the woodturning departments of various lumber mills. Called to become instructor in the carpentry department of the Arkansas School for the deaf. Married Emma T. Macy (q.v.).
