Summary
Born deaf in London; sent in 1868 to St. Joseph's School for the Deaf at Cabra, Ireland, since at that time there was no Catholic school for the deaf in England. His deaf sister Teresa Maguire also went to the St. Mary School for the Deaf at Cabra, 1869-1872. Francis left his school in 1870 and returned to London, working for a religious firm painting religious pictures, portraits and icons for Catholic churches in the British Isles. 1912-1915, worked in Cabra, doing several murals in his old school's chapel. The rest of his life is obscure; he is buried in London.
