Born at Port Coquitlam, BC; attended the Jericho Hill Provincial School for the Deaf, 1953-1954, then the Queen March School in Vancouver, 1954-1958 before returning to and graduating the Jericho Hill school, 1958-1963. Graduated Gallaudet College (B.S., 1967). First husband was Stephen Mirsky, also deaf. Taught at Jericho Hill school, 1976-1993. M.Ed. from New York University, 1986. Second marriage to a hearing man, Ben Rusi. 1993- , taught for a public school district in Greater Victoria, BC area. Also part owner of Western Captioning Service Ltd. in Vancouver.
