Graduated Nebraska School for the Deaf, 1952; B.S. (1957), Gallaudet College; M.S. (1976), University of Maryland. Worked as a cataloger 1958-1976, then served as Librarian for the Deaf Community, D.C. Public Library, 1976 until retirement in 1991; consultant on library services to the deaf, 1992- ; local, national, and international advocate for library services to deaf persons; winner of numerous awards; married to Ted Hagemeyer.
