Summary
Born at Lawton, OK; at about age 18, lost hearing in one ear when it was accidentially pierced by a bobby pin. The other ear later also went deaf from unknown causes. Graduated the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in 1967; worked as a cutter of broom corn, cutting so fast she did the same work as 3 other people. Later, she became a postal worker.
