Summary
Born to English immigrants at Berlin, ON; deaf from a severe cold as a young teenager. Several years later she entered a special class for late-deafened persons at the Ontario Institution for the Deaf and Dumb. Began teaching there in 1882 and in 1884 became a full-time teacher, working there until 1920.
