Summary
Deaf at 6 months from chicken pox and fever; began school in a special deaf class in a Toronto public school, then gradually mainstreamed, graduating Northern Secondary School's commercial art program in 1967. Studied at the Ontario College of Art. In 1970, invited by Kati Rekai to provide the illustrations for the first of a series of children's books that became popular, The Adventures of Mickey, Taggy, Puppo and Cica; she did the illustrations for 10 books written in English and 5 in French, and they have been translated into several other languages. Jigsaw puzzles based on Kane's illustrations for those books have also appeared.
