Summary
Born at Winnipeg, MB; deaf at 3 months probably from ear infection, but deafnesss not positively diagnosed until age 2 years. Spent a year in the Jericho Hill School for the Deaf, then various public schools because her family moved around until 1977-1982, when she attended a deaf class in Tremblay Public School; she then went to the Manitoba School for the Deaf 1982-graduation in 1989. Certificate in business skills from Red River Community College, 1989-1991. Worked briefly as a data entry clerk before marrying Edward Capner, also deaf, in 1993. He took ministerial training and became a pastor at Calvary Temple of the Deaf; she supported his ministry. She also ran a home-based Watkins business, but hoped eventually to return to college for a degree.
