Kaufman, Gordon

Hearing; son of deaf parents. Graduated Oregon College of Education and also earned a master's from the same college. Taught at the New Mexico and Oregon schools for the deaf before coming to the South Dakota School for the Deaf as principal in 1977; the following year, he was appointed superintendent of SDSD, remaining until 1982 when he left to become superintendent of the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind, remaining there until retirement in 1993.
