Summary
Hearing. Daughter of John Braidwood (II) (q.v.) and Isabella Braidwood (q.v.). She and her widowed mother moved to Birmingham, England in 1816 and established a boarding school for born-deaf children, in addition to the 1814 deaf school also in Birmingham founded by Elizabeth's brother Thomas Braidwood (II) (q.v.). After Isabella's death, brother Thomas helped Elizabeth run the second Birmingham school unitl his own death in 1825, after which Elizabeth moved to London, got married, and dropped out of history.
