Summary
Born at St. Thomas, ON; deafned at age 5 from scarlet fever. At age 11, entered the Ontario Institution for the Deaf and Dumb and graduated there, placing so high she was asked to stay on as a teacher, which she did 1891-1898 and 1899-1931 until forced to take early retirement due to introduction of oralism and its phase-out of deaf teachers.
