Summary
Born at Newark, NJ; attended Bruce Street School [day school for the deaf] in Newark, then graduated from public high school in West Hartford, CT in 1967. Drew University for 2 years, then Gallaudet College (B.A., 1972); M.Ed. from University of Alberta in 1989. Moved to Canada in 1974 and worked as a historical researcher at Fort Edmonston Park until 1983, when he became involved with a provincial project to make recommendations for improving the quality of life for deaf people. In 1985, moved to the University of Alberta to work on developing educational programs for deaf people.
