Summary
Late-deafened. Born hearing at Prague; after graduating school, worked in his father's business until the Nazi takeover of Czechoslovakia. Imprisioned in concentration camps 1941-1945, becoming deaf in 1944 at Auschwitz. Postwar, worked as a tax clerk until a hearing aid made it possible for him to become finance economist of the City of Prague. Emigrated to the U.S. in 1966, working as an accountant near Detroit, MI. Author of the "deaf" half of the book We Have Overcome: Deaf, Blind and Great.
