Summary
Born at Manistee, MI; deafened at age 4. Graduated Colorado School for the Deaf, 1912; B.A. (1918) and M.A. (1947) from Gallaudet College. Ordained a deacon in 1925, then became a minister at St. Ann's Church of the Deaf (New York City), missionary to the deaf in DC, MD, and VA, and finally vicar at All Soul's Church in Philadelphia, also serving as missionary to the deaf in DE and NJ, before retiring in 1968. Authored a series of biographical profiles of famous deaf people, which was published serially in The Frat and later collected and published in book form as Notable Deaf Persons.
