McAdam, Elizabeth Marie "Beth"

Born deaf in Ottawa, ON and was mainstreamed in Kanata, ON public schools, graduating A.Y. Jackson Secondary School in 1984. Dropped out of Gallaudet College after 1 semester, married and had children. Worked briefly as an administrative assistant for the Canadian Association of the Deaf, then as a literacy instructor for the deaf and later a teacher of ASL and a coordinator of literacy projects.
