Summary
Born deaf into a Deaf family; graduated the Maryland School for the Deaf 1970, graduated Gallaudet College 1974. M.A. (1977) from Western Maryland College and Ph.D. (1988) from Nova Southeastern University. Very active in international deaf sports events, most notably the CISS and the administrative side of the World Games for the Deaf. Award-winning faculty member in foreign languages at Gallaudet University; became director of the Center for Global Education at Gallaudet University in 1997. Elected president of the CISS in January 2005.
