Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973 as a defensive tackle, but suffered a knee injury early in his first season. Signed up to play for the New Orleans Saints the following year, but again injured his knee. Signed up with the New York Giants in 1976, but yet another knee injury ended his football career for good.
