Pivac, Sara

Born deaf in Sydney to deaf parents. Went to the Farrar Public School for the Deaf in Sydney ages 2 1/2 to age 8, when her family moved to New Zealand. She then began in the deaf unit at Kelston Primary School, moving to Glen Edin Primary School where she was in a deaf unit part of the time and mainstreamed the rest of the time. Mainstreamed in high school, except for a year in the U.S. as an exchange student in a mainstreamed Chicago high school. Upon her return to New Zealand, she enrolled in Auckland University, working on a B.A. degree.
