Asian. Both orphaned and deafened shortly after birth; graduated the Tokyo school for the deaf at age 18. Became interested in and studied injection needles, establishing his own injection needle factory 4 years later, becoming very successful and receiving orders from hospitals and medical societies from all over Japan. Employed 8 other deaf people in his factory, and was a great contributor to the welfare of other deaf people.
