Summary
Born at Nuremberg, Germany to American parents; deaf from fever at less than 1 month of age, though deafness was not diagnosed until age 2. Entered the New Mexico School for the Deaf in 1962, graduating 1977. Entered Gallaudet College 1977-1981 but withdrew from indecision about her major. Reentered college at Santa Fe Community College, graduating with an AA degree in 1998, then completed her BA at the College of Santa Fe, 2000. Taught ASL at several educational facilities and also was part-time curator of the Museum at the New Mexico School for the Deaf.
