Foster, J. B.

Born at Edinburgh and deaf at age 11 months through shock. Entered Gerrit van Asch's private school for the deaf, then later Langside Academy in Glasgow. Apprenticed as a lithographic draughtsman and worked at that trade 14 years before changing to full-time mission work among the deaf.
