Summary
Born at Stamford, TX; deaf in young childhood from meningitis. Graduated the Texas School for the Deaf, then Gallaudet College (1935); was a prominent football athlete at both schools. First worked at the New York School for the Deaf as a military instructor and coach, then as a full-time coach in the Amarillo [TX] Public Schools system for 5 years. Left to become a machine bookkeeper for a hardware store, but continued as an amateur coach in his free time. Married Gustyne Fisk. Active in local and state deaf organizations.
