Lillie, Robert J.

Probably born deaf, in MN, possibly from quinine medication given to his mother just before his birth. Attended a mixture of public schools and schools for the deaf; bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College, master's from Pennsylvania State College, and Ph.D. (1949) from the University of Maryland. Worked for the USDA labs at Beltsville, MD as a poultry researcher for over 30 years before retirement in 1978. Received awards for research in poultry science.
