Summary
Hearing. Son of John Braidwood (II) (q.v.) and Isabella Braidwood (q.v.); assisted in teaching in the family deaf-school business, then in 1814 established and became headmaster of a new school for the deaf in Birmingham, England. His mother Isabella and sister Elizabeth established another school in Birmingham in 1816; after Isabella's death in 1819, he and Elizabeth ran the second school until his own death.
